Inkblot of the Day #118
Instructions: Tell me what you see.
Apology: Those of you who follow this blog regularly noticed that there was no inkblot for yesterday; a streak of 117 every day was not broken until then and I assure you it was for good reason. In order to make it up to you I will post two additional blots this evening and I have decided to declare every Thursday Double-Blot Thursday and will be posting two inkblots each Thursday in honor of Thor (for whom the day was named: Thor’s-day).
-Enjoy

From a Daily Mail article. Defending the right to breast feed in public.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2152420/Military-mothers-breastfeeding-uniform-raise-awareness-cause-Facebook-debate.html
Personally I think these photographs are beautiful and it shouldn’t be the case that we have to defend something so natural. Sadly though women face comments like this on a regular basis from ignorant people who are seemingly embarrassed by their own anatomy;
‘I’m so sick of these selfish women who think they can pop them out and feed their children (some of which are big enough to go on the rides at Alton Towers!) and don’t give a stuff how it makes other people feel. I’m ex-military and the military is there for a reason; this doesn’t involve making a public exhibition of yourself’.
I find it appalling that breastfeeding has been described as selfish and personally don’t see it as an exhibitionist act in any way.
I cannot grasp the fact that there is outrage over this.
One Facebook comment actually compared this image to “defecating” in uniform.
These are mothers feeding their children. That is a beautiful, strong, moving thing.
And how in the hell could anyone be “outraged” over the ‘unprofessional manner and selfishness’ of these military women, while at the same time condoning military action that kills children, kills and maims civilians, tortures, rapes, steals, and lies. But the image of a soldier giving life instead of taking it is somehow “too much”.
FUCK YOU.
Mad props to these mamas.^^^

Checkmate.
Considering the overlap between the pro-life movement and the “being gay is a choice/not real thing” line of thought, I’d hardly call it a checkmate. I mean, going by normal, sane-person logic, it’s a pretty sound argument, but you have to remember that these are people who think that if you prohibit someone from talking about something then that something will just go away.
nerdstalgia, you make good points.

Sometimes I just have to stop and remember that this man was actually the president of an entire country for eight years.
It’s depressing.. ~_~
